Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm seeking a Manager, Sales Tax Compliance to join their dynamic team. This role is responsible for overseeing the organization's sales tax processes to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all applicable state and local sales tax regulations. The Manager will lead a team dedicated to the preparation, filing, and remittance of sales tax returns, as well as support audits and inquiries from tax authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales tax compliance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements across multiple states.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with sales tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and submission of sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor changes in sales tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and updating internal procedures as needed.
  • Lead and mentor the sales tax compliance team, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather and review necessary documentation for sales tax filings.
  • Respond to sales tax audits, notices, and inquiries from government agencies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in sales tax compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sales tax filings and payments.
