The Manager of Sales Engineering will lead and develop a team of high-performing Sales Engineers who support Account Executives with demos, technical validations, and solution designs for healthcare clients. This role will work closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to align technical expertise with business goals. You'll coach and mentor Sales Engineers to ensure they influence deals and act as trusted advisors to prospects. Ideal candidates combine strong technical and business skills with leadership experience. A key differentiator for this role is the ability to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline workflows, drive team productivity, and optimize the sales process. The ideal candidate will not only bring experience in SaaS, healthcare technology, and pre-sales leadership, but also demonstrate how they have applied AI to improve efficiency and outcomes in a sales engineering environment.

  • Recruit, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Sales Engineers.
  • Establish clear performance goals, provide ongoing feedback, and support career development.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-first culture within the team.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to align Sales Engineering activities with revenue goals.
  • Ensure team delivers tailored product demonstrations, technical deep dives, and solution presentations to healthcare prospects.
  • Oversee proof-of-concept engagements, ensuring technical requirements are captured, addressed, and aligned with product capabilities.
  • Introduce and apply AI-driven methods to streamline pre-sales activities and improve sales velocity.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to ensure market feedback informs product strategy.
  • Advocate for customer needs while balancing technical feasibility and company priorities.
  • Drive process improvements, tools, and best practices that increase sales efficiency, including AI-enabled approaches.
  • Stay current on healthcare regulatory requirements, interoperability standards, and security practices (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FHIR).
  • Ensure Sales Engineers are well-versed in compliance and industry trends that impact customer decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Technical Pre-Sales, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • SaaS industry experience required; healthcare technology experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software sales cycles, with ability to align technical solutions to business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Preferred experience with Salesforce, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Proven ability to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools to streamline team workflows, improve efficiency, and optimize sales processes.
