The New Business Team is the engine of revenue growth at Plaid, responsible for generating sales pipeline and developing future sales talent. The New Business Lead will oversee a team of 3-8 new business representatives, managing them to hit their quota. This role involves leading team performance to meet business needs, partnering with Marketing and Sales leadership to ensure pipeline generation meets appropriate levels and quality to hit business targets, including creating plans, understanding performance drivers, and executing to targets. The New Business Lead will also recruit, build, and nurture a high-performance team by identifying strong sales talent, onboarding them, and coaching them professionally. Furthermore, the role involves building a world-class sales development function by identifying and leading initiatives to enhance Plaid’s pipeline generation motions, staying updated on sales development best practices, partnering with cross-functional leaders, and overseeing initiatives from start to successful implementation.
