About The Position

The Safety Training Manager is responsible for delivering training content to all new hire employees for the company , which includes the management, administration and coordination of all training activities. The position facilitates training programs to train and educate employees about the priorities of Republic Services including; safety, customer expectations and what’s it looks like to be a successful employee. In addition, the Safety, Training Manager will coordinate with division management to provide continued training for our field trainers to support their growth and to analyze results to help determine ongoing program improvements.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial trucking, transportation or professional/workplace training experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in lead, supervisory or management role
  • Experience using MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams

Responsibilities

  • Train and educate new and existing employees on company priorities and expectations.
  • Facilitate training for new employees, including all safety sensitive employees, supervisors and managers.
  • Audit training results and prepare reports for management regarding progress of programs and provide feedback on potential improvements.
  • Facilitate ongoing training sessions for existing employees for continued growth with the role and coordinate with local management on development plans.
  • Support all HQ safety initiatives and help develop content to fill identified gaps in performance.
  • Increase driver proficiency through re-training and continual reinforcement of learnings.
  • Conduct driver evaluations and re-evaluations related to DOT and/or state-required certifications.
  • Select or develop, where necessary, teaching aids, such as training documents, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, presentations, computer tutorials and reference manuals to ensure all training is up-to-date, informative and in compliance with Company standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • The position may require travel by air, car and/or other modes of transportation up to 50% of the time.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
