About The Position

The Manager, Safety & Security is responsible for leading the operational execution and performance of MGT’s Safety & Security technical team. This role oversees systems design support, configuration guidance, and service operations for physical security solutions including access control, alarm systems, surveillance, and related infrastructure. This position translates company strategy into operational delivery by ensuring installation readiness, assigning technical resources, and driving safe, efficient, and high‑quality field execution. The Manager partners closely with Project Management, Network Engineering, Cabling, and Technical Assistance teams and is accountable for labor performance, installation quality, issue escalation management, and customer satisfaction across active deployments.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in physical security systems integration
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with configuration, installation, and support of physical security products (cameras, access control, alarm/notification systems)
  • Prior leadership or people‑management experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in IT, construction, or a business‑related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems, safety standards, and operational best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment
  • Experience monitoring KPIs and operational workflows using dashboards or reporting tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Visio, and Project
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Industry‑recognized networking certifications (e.g., CCNA)
  • OEM certifications from physical security manufacturers such as Verkada, Avigilon, or Axis
  • Lead and develop engineers, specialized technicians, and support staff
  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings and team discussions
  • Administer performance reviews, salary adjustments, and development plans
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and growth‑oriented team culture
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Support decision‑making across technical, operational, and organizational matters
  • Ensure equitable workload distribution and equal opportunity across the team

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day‑to‑day operational execution of Safety & Security installation and service activities, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems
  • Assign engineers and technicians to projects based on certifications, experience, skill level, and project complexity
  • Partner with Project Management, Network Engineering, and Cabling teams to forecast labor needs and align staffing with project schedules
  • Ensure installation readiness by validating materials, documentation, and preparation activities prior to field deployment
  • Monitor project progress, installation quality, and adherence to scope, schedule, and safety standards
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for installation challenges, project risks, and customer satisfaction concerns
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to internal specialists or manufacturer support as needed
  • Escalate design or engineering concerns to internal engineering leadership or solution architects
  • Collaborate closely with the PMO, Cabling, and Technical Assistance Center (TAC) teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Identify operational gaps and implement improvements to workflows, processes, and service delivery
  • Support the development and refinement of operational procedures and best practices
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication related to project status, risks, and escalations
  • Partner with Human Resources on performance management, recognition, development plans, and goal setting
  • Collaborate with peer managers and leadership to drive consistent operational standards across the organization
