About The Position

The Manager of Safety & Security plays a key leadership role in developing, implementing, and maintaining a proactive safety and security culture across our facilities and operations. This position ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, NCDOT, and applicable state and federal regulations while driving initiatives that protect our people, products, and property. The Manager will develop and oversee comprehensive safety and security programs, including physical security, emergency preparedness and response, and fleet safety compliance; conduct and coordinate training; and partner with the Director of Human Resources and operational leadership to build a safer, more secure workplace across all departments. This role includes on-call responsibilities for after-hours incidents.

Requirements

  • Must have proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and security programs
  • Must have strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, NCDOT, and all other applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Must have knowledge of standard security procedures and the ability to apply safety and security knowledge in emergency situations
  • Must be able to operate security technology including surveillance systems, access control platforms, two-way radios, computers, camera and security monitoring systems, and mobile phones
  • Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey information clearly to employees and management at all levels
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills in managing people and communicating effectively across the organization
  • Must be able to build relationships and influence behavior across all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality, protect security systems and access codes, and exercise discretion in sensitive situations
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have good working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Some vehicle operation required; must have a valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in safety management, security management, law enforcement, military service, or a related field required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OSHA compliance, regulatory reporting, and environmental health and safety (EHS) programs strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing vendors and contractors preferred
  • Familiarity with security technology platforms including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency notification systems preferred
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Replacements’ safety and security programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NCDOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Replacements’ security program, including: physical security, access control, video surveillance, alarm systems, security personnel management, key and asset tracking, visitor and vendor management, and threat and risk assessment.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, and routine facility inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed; take immediate action to intervene whenever conditions pose an immediate threat to life, health, equipment, or buildings.
  • Audit processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with policies; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses to prevent recurrence; oversee all safety incident reporting, OSHA recordkeeping, and corrective action tracking.
  • Lead the safety and compliance component of the Worker’s Compensation program, including injury reporting, OSHA recordkeeping, root cause analysis; partner with the Manager of Benefits & Wellness on claims administration and return-to-work coordination.
  • Manage fire and OSHA inspections by scheduling and coordinating visits, serving as the primary point of contact for inspectors, and ensuring the facility is consistently inspection-ready; document findings, develop corrective action plans, and track completion; maintain all related records and regulatory communications.
  • Prepare and submit required State and Federal regulatory reports.
  • Oversee the Code Red safety response program, ensuring all participants ae trained and certifications are current; conduct regular emergency alarm testing.
  • Manage and operate the Rave emergency notification system, both on-site and remotely; manage all alarm systems and respond to alarm calls after hours as needed.
  • Administer and maintain access control systems, employee badges, and vendor badges.
  • Maintain and oversee the security camera array; review footage as needed and when requested by Human Resources or approved senior management; conduct regular security checkpoint audits.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee safety training including: new hire orientation, periodic safety refreshers, temporary employee safety training, PPE, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, etc..
  • Train staff on Showroom closing procedures related to safety and security.
  • Coach supervisors and employees on safety best practices.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment on safety priorities and continuous improvement goals.
  • Chair the Safety Council.
  • Oversee the hazardous waste program and communicate environmental safety information to all levels of the organization as appropriate.
  • Serve as the Radiation Safety Officer; ensure radiation safety protocols are integrated into broader safety training and incident reporting.
  • Oversee all non-CDL company drivers; ensure driver qualification files, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs), Hours of Service (HOS) logs, and NCDOT reporting requirements are current and complete for all drivers including new hires; conduct periodic internal audits to verify compliance and readiness for regulatory or insurance reviews; partner with fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles meet regulatory and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate security issues with HR and Legal.
  • Support and mediate difficult conversations and assist with employee terminations as appropriate.
  • Manage contract security guards; oversee security vendor training on all company security procedures; maintain the security procedure manual and follow up to ensure procedures are being followed appropriately.
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources and operational leadership to promote a proactive, accountable safety and security culture across all departments.
  • Maintain liaison with local police department, fire station, and nearest hospital; serve as the primary safety and security liaison between departments and management.
  • Manage the company flags, including observance of proper flag etiquette related to national colors.
  • Prepare and submit proposed departmental budgets for equipment, supplies, and labor; make operating adjustments to conform to approved budgets based on analysis or monthly financial statements.
