About The Position

The Manager, Safety & Loss Prevention Investigations is responsible for leading H&S Energy Group’s safety, security, and investigative programs to protect company assets, employees, and brand reputation. This role drives excellence in regulatory compliance, workplace safety, operational integrity, and loss prevention across our growing network of convenience stores, fuel operations, car washes, and food service locations. The manager leads company-wide internal theft and organized retail crime (ORC) investigations, oversees all security technologies, and ensures consistent execution of safety initiatives across the field. As both a strategic leader and hands-on investigator, this role is instrumental in modernizing H&S’s safety and loss prevention practices through technology, data analytics, and continuous process improvements supporting our people-first culture and commitment to safe, secure, and well-run operations.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • 5-10 years’ experience in loss prevention, investigations, and/or loss prevention technology
  • Experienced with MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, & Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, evaluate root causes, and implement meaningful corrective measures
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to maintain detailed reports, case files, and regulatory documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities; able to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • In-depth knowledge of current and emerging Loss Prevention, Security, and Safety technologies

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor Safety and Loss Prevention team members, ensuring strong performance management and ongoing professional growth
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, service, and innovation within LP and Safety departments
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to implement strategies that support H&S’s operational excellence, compliance, and company goals
  • Maintain full adherence to company policies, procedures, and all expectations outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Direct and conduct internal theft, ORC, fuel-related fraud, and other investigative matters across all H&S regions
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, legal counsel, HR, Operations, and other internal partners to ensure thorough, compliant investigations
  • Identify shrink trends, fraud patterns, fuel loss anomalies, and operational gaps, developing actionable strategies to reduce loss and improve accountability
  • Maintain accurate and confidential investigative files, including CCTV footage, POS data, evidence logs, case documentation, and witness statements
  • Lead recovery actions, restitution efforts, and follow-through for all theft and fraud cases
  • Manage and continuously enhance all physical security and safety-related technologies, including CCTV, alarm systems, access control, safes, key management, and remote monitoring platforms
  • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for LP and safety technology; champion modernization initiatives that utilize automation, data analytics, and scalable solutions
  • Oversee LP and Safety Work Orders, ensuring timely completion, accurate tracking, and improved visibility for operations
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging tools and technologies to strengthen store safety, asset protection, and operational efficiency
  • Oversee H&S’s safety programs and regulatory compliance to ensure company-wide adherence to OSHA, environmental, fuel handling, and workplace safety standards
  • Support and guide the Safety Coordinator in developing, implementing, and auditing corporate safety policies, training modules, emergency response plans, and corrective action processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate OSHA reporting, including 300 logs and TRIR/ORIR performance metrics
  • Lead the cross-functional Safety Committee, driving effective communication, documentation, follow-up, and accountability
  • Monitor patterns in workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, slips/falls, property damage, and fuel-related claims to identify root causes and implement preventative measures
  • Develop and deliver safety, loss prevention, security awareness, and emergency preparedness training for store teams, field managers, and corporate staff
  • Regularly communicate key performance indicators, investigation outcomes, and safety metrics to leadership and operational partners
  • Lead initiatives that promote a proactive safety culture, leveraging education, awareness campaigns, and data-driven storytelling
  • Analyze incident, theft, claim, and accident data to identify systemic issues and drive process enhancement
  • Recommend policy updates, operational improvements, and business strategies that reduce risk exposure and improve store performance and profitability
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Facilities, Fuel, and IT to align Safety and Loss Prevention objectives with company priorities and initiatives
