As a Manager ROTO Excellence, you will serve as a subject matter expert, demonstrating mastery of rotating equipment excellence programs. This role develops new and innovative approaches to attain organizational objectives, optimize resource utilization, and address issues, works mainly independently and has broad discretion to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and policies. The Manager ROTO Excellence provides expert guidance and instruction both internally and externally to address diverse, complex issues which often cross multiple projects/programs or functional/technical areas. You can help achieve this goal if you can: Work with the refineries and external technology experts to establish and disseminate the best technical practices in each of the core refining units including, but not limited to, Distillation/Crude units, Catalytic Cracking, Alkylation, Hydrotreating, Reforming, Hydrocracking, Coking, Sulfur Recovery, and Chemicals production. Lead Reliability and Maintenance departments to improve rotating equipment reliability. Lead network committees to develop and implement rotating equipment Basic Practices. Drive continuous improvement in rotating equipment across the organization. Champion Best Practices across the organization. Assist refineries in developing and implementing rotating equipment programs to improve reliability. Participate in and/or leads refinery rotating equipment assessments. Assist in resolving refinery rotating equipment issues as needed. Support the full life-cycle of rotating equipment projects at the refineries. Active participant in the rotating equipment network. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Engineering required.
  • 10 years minimum of experience in rotating equipment and maintenance, required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 35%25 of time domestically and/or internationally as required.
  • Ability to be available by phone and manage assigned operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays as required.
  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
