About The Position

The Road Assist Manager plays a crucial role in leading the Road Assist team, which includes overseeing the performance of Road Assist Leads and Advisors. This department is dedicated to minimizing truck and trailer downtime by swiftly identifying effective solutions for mechanical failures and breakdowns, ensuring cost-efficient resolutions. The Road Assist Manager is also responsible for mentoring, training, and supporting team members to maintain high performance and service standards, driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and driver satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, paired with relevant professional experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, prior managing experience, or transportation experience is required.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and energy.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to navigate between multiple programs.
  • Demonstrates an "All In to Win" attitude and displays self-motivation and a strong desire to learn within an unpredictable and demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using AS-400, Transflo and Electronic Logbooks effectively if preferred.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing SOP's to create and refine processes within Road Assist.

Responsibilities

  • Enforcing both Company and Department Policy and Procedures to ensure consistent adherence to safety, operational, and performance standards.
  • Reviewing performance reports and tracking key metrics to ensure personnel are executing company goals effectively and efficiently.
  • Reviewing Breakdown Pay requests, approving or rejecting based on company guidelines and policies to ensure fair and accurate compensation for drivers.
  • Providing ongoing mentoring and guidance to Road Assist Leads and Advisors, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of training programs for new hires, ensuring they are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their roles.
  • On call for answering questions or addressing issues from the Road Assist team, ensuring prompt support in a 24/7, 365-day operation.
  • collaborating with other departments, including operations and fleet management, to ensure seamless communication and coordination during breakdown events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
