About The Position

The Manager, Research Analyst at GTIA leads the design and execution of end-to-end research projects focused on the global IT channel. This role involves developing survey instruments, analyzing data, and transforming findings into actionable reports and presentations for GTIA members and stakeholders. The analyst collaborates cross-functionally to ensure research supports organizational goals, maintains rigorous research hygiene, and upholds ethical, inclusive practices suitable for a global association. The position requires strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, with a solid understanding of the IT industry and channel dynamics.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Excel proficiency (filters, pivots, INDEX/MATCH OR XLOOKUP, basic descriptive statistics)
  • PowerPoint proficiency: can build executive-ready slides that tell a story
  • Writing samples that show you can explain complex tech topics clearly to business audiences
  • Solid understanding of the IT industry; strong interest in the IT channel (MSPs, solution providers/VARs, resellers, distributors, and vendor programs)
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Advanced writing and communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Public speaking or webinar experience
  • Some travel required
  • A degree is preferred but not required for this role
  • 0-3+ years of direct experience in market research, technology journalism, analyst, or adjacent insight role
  • Survey platforms (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Alchemer) and panel vendors

Responsibilities

  • Design and run end‑to‑end research projects—from hypothesis and stakeholder intake through survey instrument design, sampling/fielding, analysis, visualization/chart creation, and publication of final content.
  • Write clearly and compellingly: transform findings into reports, briefs, blog posts, member deliverables, and conference presentations; partner with comms on press‑ready narratives.
  • Build high‑quality surveys (logical flows, unbiased wording, rigorous screening/quotas); collaborate with vendors/panels as needed.
  • Analyze and QA data in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic stats); create clean charts/tables and executive‑ready decks in PowerPoint.
  • Track the IT channel—MSP/service mix, vendor–partner programs, distributor dynamics, pricing/margins, skills, and buyer demand; monitor secondary sources to contextualize our primary data.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally (events, membership, education, marketing) to ensure findings support member value and organizational goals.
  • Maintain research hygiene (methods, docs, codebooks, templates, citation standards) and uphold ethical, inclusive research practices appropriate for a global association.
