About The Position

This role is responsible for executing on the strategy for ensuring operational excellence and reliability through our ground support equipment maintenance program. As a people leader, the Manager Regional Ground Support Equipment (GSE) leads and establishes priorities for a group of GSE technicians to manage the optimal use of our labor/parts and provide creative solutions in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience of practical ground support equipment experience.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as partner with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.
  • Strong critical reasoning, judgement, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification.
  • Technical trade school in repair and maintenance.
  • Electric powered vehicle experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input in the strategy for the development and implementation of safety, operational and compliance standards for ground support equipment that ensures all work groups meet or exceed their operational performance goals.
  • Lead and establish priorities of the Quality Control program for system-wide GSE maintenance activities.
  • Manage the operations component of the parts vendor contract.
  • Make decisions on key performance measures and ensure that maintenance commitments are achieved by GSE maintenance program.
  • Drive adherence to established manufacturer and company preventative maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate with stations on performance and corrective measures relative to GSE.
  • Collaborate with Safety Leaders on various initiatives that enhance the delivery of safe and reliable equipment.
  • Exercise considerable latitude and initiative in partnership with “Parts” business partner(s) to ensure an adequate stock of spare parts, supplies, and routine expendable items are readily available to support maintenance needs.
  • Leads a high-performance culture by supporting and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.
  • Identifies and provides career development opportunities through developmental assignments and formal/informal training.
