About The Position

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings through the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive portfolio of refugee case management programs. This includes adherence to all guidelines from CCNEK agency standards and funder requirements to ensure program compliance. Provide leadership and direction to staff, volunteers, and interns. EEO. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing direct services to refugees and immigrants.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing direct service staff; experience supervising volunteers preferred.
  • Experience with employment services, public benefits, and/or refugee health programming is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities.
  • Knowledge of public policy and systems affecting refugee populations.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English; additional languages (Spanish, Swahili, Ukrainian) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural, and multi-lingual environment.
  • Must complete VIRTUS training, background check, drug testing and any ongoing training as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and a verified safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage refugee program service areas including health, employment, long and short-term case management, and support services.
  • Ensure services are aligned with self-sufficiency goals for clients and meet all grant, state, federal, and agency guidelines.
  • Monitor caseloads and compliance to ensure service delivery standards and client outcomes are met across all program areas.
  • Lead new program planning and implementation based on community needs and funding opportunities.
  • Supervise and support coordinators and program leads overseeing Case Managers and Volunteers.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance evaluations, and coaching to ensure high-performing teams.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and certified appropriately and maintain NASW-aligned professional conduct.
  • Ensure all programs adhere to guidelines from CCNEK agency standards and funder requirements to ensure program compliance.
  • Oversee accurate and timely submission of internal and external reports.
  • Maintain high standards of recordkeeping, confidentiality, and client documentation.
  • Maintain and grow partnerships with healthcare providers, employers, landlords, and community organizations to support program goals.
  • Represent programs within the community and at external meetings to advocate for client needs and build networks.
  • Support the Senior Director in budget planning, grant compliance, and resource stewardship.
  • Ensure proper documentation and fiscal tracking of client financial assistance.
  • Serve as a back-up or representative for the Senior Director in meetings as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and critical incidents involving clients or staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
