POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 standards (with working knowledge of ISO 14001), while supporting improvements in product quality, process performance, and customer satisfaction. This role oversees quality assurance and control activities across the manufacturing process to ensure products meet internal, regulatory, and customer requirements. The Quality Manager works closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain to address quality issues, support root cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a hands-on leader who is engaged on the manufacturing floor, able to collaborate across teams, and focused on building a culture of quality and accountability, while ensuring audit readiness and compliance with applicable standards.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and familiarity with ISO 14001 standards. ASQC certification is a plus.
  • Experience with auditing and compliance in an ISO 9001 certified company.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • ISO 9001 Compliance: Own, drive, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure ISO 9001 compliance while enhancing process effectiveness, standardization, and operational performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Design, implement, and optimize quality assurance protocols, inspection methods, and testing procedures to proactively prevent defects and ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer and industry standards.
  • Audits: Lead and execute internal and external audits, always ensuring audit readiness. Drive closure of findings through root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions and serve as the primary interface for third-party auditors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, prioritize, and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, rework, and variation. Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve process capability and throughput.
  • Team Leadership: Build, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing quality team. Coach team members on problem solving, data analysis, and floor engagement to drive ownership of quality at all levels. Drive a positive quality driven culture.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Own customer quality performance by analyzing complaints, leading deep root cause investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions that eliminate recurrence and improve customer confidence.
  • Training: Develop and deploy targeted training programs that reinforce quality standards, improve operator competency, and embed a culture of “quality at the source.”
  • Supplier Quality Management: Drive supplier quality performance by partnering with procurement and suppliers to resolve issues, conduct audits, and ensure incoming materials meet defined standards and support production stability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Establish and maintain clear, data-driven quality reporting systems; analyze and communicate key metrics (scrap, yield, defects, COPQ) to leadership and drive actions based on insights.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure and enforce compliance with all applicable regulatory and industry standards, proactively identifying risks and implementing controls to maintain ongoing compliance.
