This role conducts inspections, audits vendor performance, and ensures adherence to engineering standards, environmental health regulations, and University service benchmarks. The QA/QC Manager partners with operations and custodial supervisors to maintain a safe, clean, efficient, and compliant campus environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental health, or facilities management with at least 5 years of QA/QC, custodial, or engineering operations experience.
  • Expertise in QA/QC processes for facilities, custodial, and engineering systems.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and environmental health regulations.
  • Ability to evaluate service quality and enforce accountability across teams and vendors.
  • Effective communication, reporting, and training skills.
  • Focus on proactive compliance, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with focus on accountability and innovation.
  • Commitment to service quality, timeliness, and the University’s mission.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in OSHA, quality management systems, or EHS compliance strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and enforces QA/QC protocols for custodial operations, technical systems, and EHS standards.
  • Conducts regular inspections of buildings, mechanical systems, utilities, and custodial services.
  • Tracks and reports KPIs on cleanliness, system reliability, compliance rates, and safety incidents.
  • Audits vendor performance against contract terms and service-level agreements.
  • Collaborates with EHS staff to ensure OSHA, EPA, fire/life safety, and hazard communication compliance.
  • Provides findings and corrective action recommendations to the Deputy Director and Executive Director.
  • Leads training and awareness programs on service quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives in operations and custodial services.
  • Maintains documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
