About The Position

Provides strategic planning, leadership, and problem resolution to the Quality Assurance Department, as well as other manufacturing departments. This position will successfully satisfy the expectations of internal and external customers in areas such as manufacturing quality improvements, inline defect reduction, warranty cost reduction, departmental efficiency gains, customer/supplier interface and overall system improvements.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing quality, policies, procedures, and quality tools.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to negotiate with both internal and external entities.
  • Ability to identify, comprehend and resolve complex problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficiency with office software applications including MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, project and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic planning for the Quality Assurance Dept. in areas such as Quality Management System (ISO 9001 certification).
  • Directs, reviews and approves Quality Assurance staff work assignments.
  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures for efficient quality system operation in order to ensure high process and product quality.
  • Reviews quality metrics and manages the preparation of reports to Quality Assurance top management. Reports will include quality performance metrics, department efficiency, kaizen development/implementation, budget and monthly project updates.
  • Evaluates team members’ work performance, training and development to cultivate technical and quality skills, management and talents.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements for warranty claim reduction, defect detection/resolution and technical support.
  • Provides quality and management guidance to related sections during planning and problem resolution.
  • Manages in-plant Early Stage Control for new, changing products and processes.
  • Performs HR activities including attendance tracking, counseling, scheduling, etc.
