About The Position

Organize, lead and manage the day-to-day management of the project portfolio with project managers and team members to deliver high-quality, on time, on budget deliverables within project scope, and managing risks and resolution of issues as they arise. TTX Company is a leading provider of railcars and related freight car management services to the North American rail industry. TTX’s pool of railcars is ideal for supporting shippers in the intermodal, automotive, paper & forest, metals, machinery, wind energy and other markets where flatcars, boxcars and gondolas are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Any amount of experience developing risk assessment frameworks to proactively identify and mitigate IT project risks, ensuring resolution of issues
  • Any amount of experience directing cross-functional global teams to deliver IT project deliverables within defined scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Any amount of experience implementing and utilizing project management tools (JIRA, MS Project) to track schedules, dependencies, and team progress
  • Any amount of experience authoring and managing detailed IT project documentation, including requirements specifications, user stories, test cases, and traceability matrices
  • Any amount of experience managing scope, stakeholder communications, and compliance with organizational standards for end-to-end IT project governance
  • Any amount of experience managing project budget consumption and forecast financial needs across all phases of the IT project lifecycle

Responsibilities

  • Organize, lead and manage the day-to-day management of the project portfolio with project managers and team members to deliver high-quality, on time, on budget deliverables within project scope, and managing risks and resolution of issues as they arise
  • Ensure projects follow the established methodologies and are auditable
  • Facilitate project financial and forecast reporting with project managers
  • Identify, secure and oversee the appropriate level of project management resources for projects
  • Develop core project/program practices with a primary focus on driving business results through project management and the delivery of key projects
  • Implement project management best practices, theories and concepts and ensure that these practices are being used among project teams
  • Provide overall direction, goals and operating practices that promote a high performing team
  • Conduct performance reviews, merit planning, coaching and handling performance/discipline issues
  • Mentor and develop staff through regular communication, training, coaching and succession planning
  • Oversee and manage key cross-enterprise and vendor relationships.
