Position Overview As the Project Controls Manager for North America. Your key function will be to support the efficient delivery of Vantage Data Center Portfolio by the organization of data, implementation of scalable processes and the use of professional tools. In this role, you will lead, collaborate, negotiate, and communicate to identify areas for improvement, development of plans, processes and execute changes. This includes supporting project budgets and schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. This role is based fully remote in the US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or certification as Project Controls Manager or equivalent recommended.
  • 5 years of experience in project controls management required 5 to 7 years preferred.
  • Experience in P6 software and interface with accounting software like Yardi and Anaplan strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding general project controls technical skills and the integration of all of the components including organizational, planning, accounting, analysis and revision process areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 25-50% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain standard procedures for cost informational requirements from data submitted by contractors and suppliers. Develop methodologies for classification and interpretation and benchmarking of the data gathered.
  • Perform cost engineering functions encompassing estimating, cost control and supporting budget preparations, forecasting, cashflow and reporting.
  • Support decision making with objective data, working with partner teams to understand the impact of project implementation in a live data center environment.
  • Evaluate projects at each stage of development to ensure cost and financial activities of the project team inclusive of ensuring client/contractual obligations have been met.
  • Manages the project control resources and personnel required to deliver multiple portfolios of projects; ensures project controls processes are consistently applied across projects.
  • Monthly reporting on our North American program milestones and interdependencies
  • Develop dashboards with real-time telemetry at project, site, region and global levels; deliver detailed cost, schedule, risk/upside reports for the project teams and management as needed
  • Contribute to the month-end financial forecasting process
  • Report budget at various stages of development comparing underwriting to budget (SD/ DD/CD) and actuals
  • Ensure risk exposure is accurately extracted from the Risk/Upside Log into other reports
  • Provide project teams with schedule lookahead metrics
  • Run analyses to compare the work in place to the progress billings to report risk to budget or schedule
  • Establish change management workflow incorporating existing processes and improving upon them
  • Support the evaluation of design and construction and the associated impacts on cost and/or schedule
  • Support proper documentation of change approvals from design through construction
  • Partner with teams globally to harvest lessons learned and feed back to program level project controls and Innovation Engineering team
  • Support time-impact analysis throughout development stage gates
  • Ensure contractors comply with cost/schedule formats and data inputs enabling efficient data management
  • Work with project teams and Construction Cost and Finance (CCF) to create project estimates at each development stage including conceptual design, SD, DD, CD
  • Partner with CCF to perform cost standardization, benchmarking, labor analysis/efficiency and forecasting/ variance analysis to identify risks as well as opportunities to optimize ongoing and future builds
  • Support project teams in the development of Schedule of Values
  • Review and perform health check analysis on contractor’s baseline and progress schedules
