Job Responsibilities: Scope The Program Manager Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Program Managers while owning overall performance of the program portfolio across the full product life cycle (pre-acquisition through end of production). This role ensures programs meet timing, quality, financial, and customer satisfaction objectives in alignment with Magna expectations and strategic business goals. The position serves as the escalation point for complex program issues and drives consistency in execution using the Magna Global Program Management System (GPMS) across all assigned programs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a combined 8–12+ years of program management and leadership experience within the automotive manufacturing industry, with a verifiable record of results.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent (6 additional years of related technical experience in addition to experience referenced above). Technical / Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • Prior people leadership experience strongly preferred (direct or indirect leadership of program teams).
  • Strong technical background that may include knowledge of powertrain systems & components (including 4WD/AWD, fluid pressure & controls, stampings & castings) and a strong understanding of cross-functional responsibilities.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing program budgets, forecasts, quotations, and business cases.
  • Must possess advanced usage of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint); must be/become proficient in company & customer systems.
  • Previous experience in a plant operations role or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development for Program Managers.
  • Own portfolio-level performance for timing, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction across assigned programs.
  • Act as escalation point for high-risk or off-track programs and lead recovery and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure consistent application of GPMS and standard program management practices across all programs.
  • Support and participate in executive-level customer communications as needed.
  • Oversee preparation and review of customer quotations, business cases, and contract reviews to ensure profitable and/or strategic business awards.
  • Partner with Sales, Global Product Managers, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Finance to remove execution barriers and align priorities.
  • Review and challenge program budgets, financial forecasts, change management, claims, and commercial recoveries.
  • Drive continuous improvement, VA/VE initiatives, and lessons learned across the program portfolio.
  • Support Series Production Phase activities including claims management, change management, and ongoing price negotiations/adjustments.
  • Lead preparation and communication of program status to management steering committees and ensure timely escalation of critical issues.
  • Ensure MAFACT standards are planned and implemented to support world-class manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with TS 16949, OSHA, ISO, ANSI, and EH&S requirements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
