About The Position

The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives. This role is responsible for meeting selection targets, maintaining genetic security and purity, and fostering a strong culture of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety. The position also focuses on developing qualified and effective team members, communicating pedigree-related objectives, and producing selection reports.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in the relevant field of expertise preferred.
  • Responsible for supervising a team of primarily non-exempt team members. Includes mentoring exempt team members.
  • Provides training to non-exempt team members.
  • Monitors work quality and coaches team members on performance.
  • Contributes to team member pay decisions and changes.
  • Accountable for the quality and accuracy of results produced by the team.
  • Proficiency in data collection and data management using Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Directly supervises a team of hourly team members, including lead positions.
  • Minimal domestic travel required.
  • The jobsite is a biosecurity environment requiring showering before entering the facility and may require multiple showers during the workday.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company.
  • No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite, except for medical ID jewelry.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with all avian species (including chickens, ducks, and birds).
  • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
  • Must be willing to follow all guidelines outlined in the Cobb Farm Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; and hear.
  • The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • When visiting facilities, the team member is expected to follow all required safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
