About The Position

The Manager, Product & Engineering – PKI leads the team responsible for designing, building, and evolving enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services, including certificate lifecycle management, cryptographic platforms, and integrations with 4G/5G networks and cloud services. This leader blends product strategy, engineering execution, and operational reliability, ensuring PKI remains a foundational enabler of identity, trust, and secure communications across T-Mobile’s enterprise and nationwide network. You will drive modernization of PKI architecture for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, partner with vendors such as Keyfactor and Garantir, and expand automation and self-service capabilities. This role is critical to supporting T-Mobile’s zero-trust security model, 5G rollout, and enterprise cloud adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in security infrastructure, PKI, or cryptographic engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership/people manager role.
  • Proven track record of defining product roadmaps and delivering security infrastructure at enterprise scale.
  • Deep knowledge of PKI protocols (X.509, OCSP, CRL), HSMs, and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Keyfactor, Garantir, or equivalent PKI platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native PKI capabilities (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Agile product management expertise — backlog grooming, sprint planning, roadmap delivery.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical and operational oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with telecom, 4G/5G networks, and zero-trust security models.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO).
  • CISSP, CISM, or cloud/PKI-related certifications.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of PKI engineers and product managers.
  • Define and own the PKI product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle, aligning with enterprise security and network initiatives.
  • Drive engineering excellence in building and scaling PKI services, including certificate lifecycle automation and developer adoption.
  • Oversee vendor engagement and integration, ensuring effective delivery of features from partners like Keyfactor SaaS and Garantir Enterprise.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Security Architecture, Network Engineering, Application Development, Cloud Engineering, Compliance) to ensure PKI services meet business and technical needs.
  • Balance product management and operational leadership — from roadmap planning and stakeholder alignment to incident response and certificate health.
  • Establish and mature metrics/reporting for PKI product health, adoption, compliance, and operational reliability.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence, with a focus on scalability and security.
