As a Private Brands Manager, Product Development – Active (Fashion), you will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end development of fashion products, with a specialized focus on apparel and activewear. This position is dedicated to Fashion Product Development, Production, Sourcing, and Raw Materials, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of quality, trend relevance, and value for our customers.You’ll serve as an advocate for our customers and see the products you develop, from ideation to finished product review, come to life in stores and online. This is an opportunity to develop fashion-forward products for Walmart customers, offering great value and product quality. You’ll be the expert for Private Brand fashion products within your categories of responsibility and leverage the scale and access of the Walmart system to truly impact the business and the lives of millions of customers worldwide. Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Fashion Product Development, Production, Sourcing, and Raw Materials, with a proven track record in the apparel industry
  • You are a self-starter and can perform all product development actions independently
  • You can lead as a voice of the customer in product development reviews, cost negotiation, and cross-functional forums
  • You proactively lead sourcing and country of origin strategies, with a deep understanding of raw material selection and vendor management
  • You can optimize complex workflows across design, development, sourcing, and vendor touch points specific to fashion and apparel
  • You anticipate bottlenecks and adjust proactively to maintain calendar adherence and product quality
  • You champion operational rigor to adopt best practices in PLM, 3D, and AI insights for fashion product development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field and 2 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating to assist in setting the category strategy for Private Brands: you’ll assist with strategy development, through deep customer understanding, market trends, and industry knowledge specific to fashion and apparel
  • Building relationships: you’ll use your influencing and leadership skills to build partnerships with suppliers, merchants, business partners, and other Private Brand team members in the fashion supply chain
  • Influencing decisions: you’ll collaborate with merchants to influence decisions about nearly every aspect of your fashion products including replenishment, supply chain, manufacturers, store operations, planning, assortment, layouts, budgets, modular, and pricing
  • Delivering on Key Business metrics: You’ll work with Sourcing to deliver quality fashion products whilst ensuring key business metrics are achieved
  • Knowing your category: You’ll know your private brand fashion customers and suppliers better than anyone and are always thinking about what is next for your business
  • Quality: Quality will be a constant area of focus, both in continuous improvement but also in maintaining business-required systems and protocols for fashion and apparel
