About The Position

The Manager, Private Label Strategy plays a critical part in ensuring Grainger’s product assortment offers worldclass private branded products to our customers. You will be directly accountable for hundreds of thousands of existing SKUs and the strategic expansion of new private label opportunities. With a strong focus on the customer experience, you will lead product quality assurance at cost advantage efforts across our processes, while identifying the next strategic growth opportunities. Leveraging your expertise in industry best practices, customer and product knowledge, you will help elevate Grainger's private label assortment to new levels of excellence. You will report to the Manager or Senior Mgr, Private Label Strategy. This is a hybrid position that is based in Lake Forest or Chicago.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years experience managing product data, inclusive of 2+ years of overseeing a team
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement and change management strategies to support successful implementations/adoption of new tools or processes
  • Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) technology, data management strategies, informing decisions and merchandising experiences
  • Experience communicating with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team responsible for the product quality, completeness and timely implementation of Grainger's full scope of deliverables to the business and our customers.
  • Oversees, coaches and manages the team responsible for ensuring the deliverables are completed based on project plans and service-level agreements.
  • Responsible for resolving escalated complex product data issues through identifying root cause and aligning with stakeholders on solutions.
  • Provide thought leadership to business partners and communicate the impact of strategies as part of key merchandising activities such as category review and new product additions • Responsible for continuously improving processes and ensuring successful change management.
