The (Sr.) Manager, Power Systems Modeling Department is responsible for ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of the PJM Energy Management System (EMS) Transmission Network Advanced Applications (TNA) and its related databases and interfaces. This includes the maintenance of the PJM EMS Network Application (NA) model. This computer model of the power system is used by multiple internal systems and processes including: State Estimator, Security Analysis, Study Power Flow and downstream Markets and Settlements functions. The model is maintained in a Model Management application which acts as a commons source for the EMS network model, as well as the linkage to the Markets and Settlements models. The manager is responsible for overseeing the design, testing and implementation of enhancements to the real-time network analysis functions used by Dispatch including 7x24 maintenance support for EMS and its functions. The Manager coordinates work with other PJM personnel, departments and divisions as necessary including: Dispatch, Real Time Data Management, Information Technology, Markets, Planning. The Manager also coordinates with the applicable EMS vendors, member company personnel and personnel from other ISO/RTO organizations to ensure the reliable end-to-end operation and availability of critical Dispatch systems. These responsibilities include cyber security as required under NERC and FERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards, SSAE16 and internal audit support as required. The Manager must insure that NERC standards are followed and that auditable records are kept to verify compliance.
