Requirements

  • Current active Kentucky Physical Therapy license (required as a working manager)
  • 2+ years clinical experience required, management experience is strongly preferred
  • Basic Life Support Certification required

Responsibilities

  • Handles departmental operations in order to maintain departmental efficiency and provide clinical interpretation of Policy and Procedures
  • Monitors PT department productivity.
  • Maintains appropriate distribution of patient load among employees and schedules employees appropriately
  • Assumes role as a resource person for the therapists, linking accomplished staff with others as a resource when needed, and/or personally offers suggestions and makes recommendations regarding patient care
  • Coordinates the orientation of all new PT employees and assists with the orientation of other employees to the PT department
  • Works closely with the director on PT program development and may be responsible for program implementation
  • Works closely with Director to ensure departmental compliance with all applicable regulatory agency requirements, e.g., the Office of the Inspector General and KY. state Health standards for patient care.
  • Works closely with Director to formulate and revise Quality program and is responsible for its implementation.
  • Assists Director with annual budget process.
  • Documents on employees via tracking sheets; prepares employee evaluations; and conducts the employee evaluation session with the employee.
  • Coordinates the educational experiences of PT and PTA students including assigning appropriate clinical instructors.
  • Evaluates and develops a treatment plan with goals for each patient
  • Completes documentation in patient charts including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries according to policy and procedure.
