Responsible for the supervision, direction and coordination of pharmacy services at multiple hospital pharmacy sites within the healthcare system. Plans, organizes and implements medication distribution functions, clinical services and PI programs consistent with quality care. Is responsible for assisting in the financial operations of the department, developing associates and creating a healthy practice environment that fosters innovation and the organizational vision. Provides pharmacy services appropriate to the age of the patient served, i.e., neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric, ensuring that the pharmaceutical care provided meets the unique needs of the patient with regard to the age and development. In the absence of the Director is responsible for the administrative and managerial operation of the department. Provides support and collaboration with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and other site Pharmacy Manager. Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Masters degree required and a minimum of five to seven years of progressive hospital pharmacy experience required. Registration and licensure in accordance to the requirements of the NJ Board of Pharmacy required. Graduate degree in management or Pharmacy Residency training is preferred. Work requires the ability to manage the employees within assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer level managers and department heads on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department.
