The Manager, Education, Perioperative Services is responsible for the operational leadership, administrative oversight, and day-to-day management of all education, training, and professional development functions within perioperative services. The incumbent is accountable for all aspects of performance, ensuring the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive onboarding, competency validation, continuing education, and professional development programs for all perioperative coworkers, in alignment with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards, including The Joint Commission and applicable state and federal requirements. This role maintains accountability for the development and implementation of education policies, standards, simulation-based learning, and competency assessment frameworks to ensure perioperative coworkers maintain the clinical knowledge, skills, and proficiency required to deliver safe, high-quality patient care across all assigned perioperative service areas. The Manager provides direct oversight to perioperative education coworkers and is responsible for the selection, onboarding, competency validation, performance evaluation, and professional development of all assigned coworkers. This position collaborates with perioperative nursing leadership, surgical services, anesthesia, clinical operations, and administrative leadership to identify educational needs, advance coworker development, and support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. The Manager works under limited oversight and exercises independent judgment in determining departmental goals and measures to achieve operational and educational objectives within the assigned perioperative education program.
