About The Position

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager with a specialization in payroll and benefits administration to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing payroll processes, administering employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in both the U.S. & Canada. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels. As an integral part of the HR team, the HR Manager will play a key role in supporting our organization's mission and goals by providing comprehensive HR support to our team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on payroll and benefits administration.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP) is a plus.
  • Payroll and Benefits knowledge in the U.S. and Canada preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including processing payroll, reviewing timesheets, and ensuring accuracy of team member data.
  • Process and maintain payroll through Dayforce and Rippling, ensuring accurate employee data, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings across payroll cycles.
  • Utilize Dayforce and Rippling reporting tools to audit payroll data, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on Dayforce and Rippling payroll workflows, supporting system updates, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing payroll processes.
  • Support equity-related payroll matters, including taxation and reporting of equity compensation (e.g., RSUs, stock options), ensuring proper withholding and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and Legal to ensure accurate payroll treatment of equity events, including vesting, exercises, and related reporting requirements.
  • Administer team member benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, option agreements, and other fringe benefits.
  • Assist team members with enrollment, changes, and termination of benefits coverage.
  • Coordinate with benefit providers to resolve any issues or discrepancies and ensure timely payment of premiums.
  • Communicate benefit information to team members and provide guidance on available options and resources.
  • Administration of leave including, Parental, short and term disability, etc.
  • Working with EHS Officer on Incident reports and workers compensation administration and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations of US and Canada, related to payroll and benefits administration.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies, such as tax filings, EEO1 reporting, EHT reporting, and compliance reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll and benefits administration activities.
  • State Tax Account Management
  • Provide general HR support to team members and management, including addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and facilitating HR processes.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed, such as performance management, team member engagement, and policy development.
  • Participate in HR-related meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed about best practices and industry trends.
