About The Position

Gruve is seeking a Manager – People Business Partner and Operations for our US operations in Redwood City, California . This strategic HR leadership role bridges global People & Culture initiatives with regional business execution. You will act as a trusted advisor to US business leaders, driving engagement, performance, and compliance while shaping the employee experience through data-driven programs, modern performance frameworks, and local adaptation of global initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience: 5+ years as HRBP supporting senior leaders, 5+ years managing HR operations.
  • Expert-level knowledge of US/California employment law.
  • Experience in a lean, high-execution environment as an individual contributor.
  • Proven track record implementing and measuring HR programs (performance, engagement, onboarding).
  • High proficiency with HRIS systems; Keka experience preferred.
  • Strong project management and data analysis skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and drive outcomes independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or HR certification (PHRca, SPHR, SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience in global organizations, aligning local execution with global frameworks.
  • Background in tech or fast-paced industries.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with US department heads as a strategic advisor on people matters.
  • Translate business needs into actionable people initiatives.
  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, promotion rates, engagement) and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage complex employee relations including investigations, performance management, and separations.
  • Lead US deployment of the global "P&C Launchpad" onboarding program.
  • Implement structured 30-60-90-180 day plans in Keka for all new hires.
  • Manage and optimize the US Buddy System for new joiner assimilation.
  • Track and report onboarding metrics, driving retention and feedback goals.
  • Localize and maintain US versions of the Employee Handbook and Manager Playbook.
  • Roll out global OKR/KPI cycles for US teams; ensure completion in Keka.
  • Partner with Global L&D/P&C for manager training on goals and feedback.
  • Serve as US process expert for performance reviews, 1:1s, and feedback cycles.
  • Drive Keka adoption across US teams and enforce probation/PIP frameworks.
  • Localize and execute global engagement surveys (annual, quarterly, eNPS) for the US.
  • Analyze regional survey results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Facilitate workshops for US managers to interpret survey data and create action plans.
  • Tailor the global engagement calendar for US teams and track participation/engagement goals.
  • Manage core HR operations: onboarding, offboarding, leaves (FMLA/CFRA/PDL), and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and California employment laws.
  • Serve as first point of contact for US employee and manager queries.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS (Keka) data and employee records.
