The Manager - Payroll manages, oversees, supports, monitors, and directs payroll functions for the department. Ensures payroll activities comply with standards and protocols, oversees quarterly and annual Tax and Financial forms, W-2, and third-party financial transactions. The Manager - Payroll Accounting and Tax Management is responsible for leading the Payroll Accounting and Tax functions at the City of Dallas and reports to the Sr. Manager of Payroll in the City Controller’s Office. This position operates with a high level of discretion, judgment, and integrity. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and maintaining the City’s Payroll Accounting and Tax system to ensure timely and accurate posting of payroll journal and government reporting requirements. Also, as well as accurate and timely recording of all payroll transactions in the general ledger, submitting of wires, quarterly 941, and Form W-2 reporting. This position works closely with multiple functions within the City Controller’s Office including financial reporting, financial compliance, auditing, and treasury. Performs special projects related to the payroll accounting function.
