The Department of Surgery at the University of Miami is seeking a Full-Time Manager of Patient Scheduling to work onsite in Miami. This role involves managing subordinate staff to facilitate efficient scheduling and coordination of patient services. The incumbent oversees all staff members, ensuring they utilize designated Protected Health Information (PHI) systems as necessary and adhere to PHI “minimum necessary” compliance standards. The manager will work closely with department leadership, hospital clinical departments, and physicians to monitor service delivery, oversee scheduling application systems, and maintain QA processes including HIPAA compliance. Responsibilities also include analyzing statistical call center data, resolving issues with scheduling Supervisors, and planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all operational activities of the department to ensure high performance, goal achievement, and quality results. The role requires collaboration with internal and external referral sources, oversight of integrative projects for system upgrades and new locations, assistance in annual operating budget development, and management of scheduling application setup. The manager is also responsible for establishing and assessing internal controls and ensuring employees are trained on University policies and procedures.
