The Manager, Patient Access is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations of assigned areas, in order to meet the needs of all customers and support the Medical Center's philosophies. The Manager, Patient Access assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, serves as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes maximum growth and development of each employee, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term and assures patient advocacy. The Manager, Patient Access guides staff in meeting customers' needs consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan. The role maintains competency skills including the ability to interact with customers with diverse cultural backgrounds. The Manager, Patient Access identifies safety concerns/ performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age development of the patient population(s) served. Assigned responsibility includes insurance verification, financial case management, inhouse account management and preregistration.
