The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. JOB SUMMARY Trauma is the fastest growing area of the Orthopaedics business, and the platform is a key enabler of growth. The Manager Ortho SCP will be the Supply Chain Procurement business leader for this dynamic scope of business, the role has final accountability for effectively delivering supplier performance across Reliability of supply, GP improvement & Cost competitiveness and Supplier Selection for new product development. The role has the critical responsibility of ensuring mutual understanding between the procurement organization and the Orthopedics business, representing all categories and functional areas. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES 1. Strategic Alignment & Executive Partnership Ensure Procurement delivers measurable results that advance the Trauma business strategy. Proactively engage the platform Supply Chain Leadership Team (ELT) and key functional stakeholders to shape Procurement’s agenda, translate business priorities into sourcing strategies, and secure alignment and adoption across markets. 2. Category Leadership & Execution Lead the development and execution of a sourcing strategy for Trauma (and product strategies as required). Drive innovation, speed-to-value, risk management, and supplier performance through differentiated category plays, bold sourcing strategies, and disciplined execution, monitoring and reporting processes.

  • Strong business acumen – ability to understand challenges through the eyes of business leaders
  • Exceptional influencing skills – able to persuade, align, and secure sponsorship for bold ideas across senior stakeholders
  • Superior communication skills – confidently present complex information in clear, compelling narratives
  • Broad Procurement expertise across spend management, category strategy, and supplier management
  • Preferred Minimum Education: Bachelors/MBA or Equivalent
  • Preferred Area of Study: BS/BA in an applicable field of study, advance degree is preferred MBA a plus.
  • Broad-based understanding of Orthopedics business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management).
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools and digital procurement platforms – familiarity with leveraging AI for predictive analytics, spend optimization, and supplier selection/innovation.
  • Multi-country and multi-sector experience preferred with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Set Priorities & Strategy Translation: Determine business priorities and partner with Procurement Category Leaders to design forward-looking strategies that directly advance those priorities, balancing cost, growth enablement, risk, speed, innovation and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with senior business leaders to ensure Procurement strategies meet business needs, are socialized effectively, and are adopted within the business – creating executive-ready narratives and clear decision paths.
  • Embed Digital & AI Capabilities: Identify opportunities to apply AI and advanced analytics in category strategies, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation to drive speed, precision, and innovation.
  • Major Strategic Negotiations: Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations for owned categories, ensuring value creation, risk mitigation, compliance, and relationship outcomes.
  • Performance Management: own delivery against Procurement performance targets within the role’s remit; establish dashboards and lead reviews to ensure target achievement.
  • New Product Development: bring innovation to the business for new product development, partner cross-category to ensure robust supplier selection slates and drive adherence to the supplier selection process.
  • Risk, Compliance & Governance: Uphold ethical sourcing, data privacy, antibribery/anticorruption standards, and contracting governance; anticipate and address regional risks proactively.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
