The Manager, Operations is responsible for establishing clear operational standards for all clubs and ensuring the field organization is equipped to execute against them. Working in close partnership with field leadership, this role gathers feedback to develop efficient, practical operating procedures that support consistent club performance. This leader serves as the primary owner of all club-related projects including new openings, remodels, and re-equips. They must collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met. The Manager, Operations will also act as an expert on club layouts, optimizing equipment placement to enhance the member experience and stay ahead of competition. This includes conducting equipment tests, pilots, and industry evaluations to stay ahead of emerging trends. Additionally, the Manager, Operations will provide ongoing guidance, support, and best practices to the broader Operations team as needed, strengthening overall organizational alignment and operational excellence.

  • Create, maintain, and lead the club projects strategy in alignment with Taymax’s Internal Global Operations strategies.
  • In partnership with the Global Operations Team, oversee the effective execution of all major club projects, including: New Club openings, Club Remodels and Re- equips.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Human Resources, Facilities, Finance, IT, Development, and Construction to design and implement programs, processes, and communications that support Taymax’s broader business goals.
  • Champion, inspire, and motivate Club Teams throughout all project phases, ensuring strong engagement, alignment, and execution across the field.
  • Serve as the project manager for all club projects, facilitating cross-functional planning meetings, gathering input from key business partners and Field Leadership, creating project plans and guiding teams toward seamless and successful project delivery.
  • Develop the strategy for needed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by partnering closely with the Operations team and field leaders to ensure processes are efficient, practical, and aligned with both business needs and field feedback.
  • Lead pilots and equipment tests to evaluate new products, layouts, technology, and operational enhancements, ensuring Taymax remains ahead of industry trends and prioritizes the member experience.
  • Act as the liaison to the Planet Fitness Club Support Center, staying informed on PF standards, reporting expectations, and compliance requirements, and ensuring Taymax clubs consistently meet or exceed brand standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Field Leadership and HQ teams, acting as an advocate for clubs and ensuring field perspectives are represented in decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to large teams on best practices, new programs, SOPs, and operational implementations, ensuring clarity, engagement, and adoption.
  • Continuously improve training programs, materials, and operational processes based on business needs, performance insights, and field feedback.
  • Take on miscellaneous projects as business needs dictate, demonstrating adaptability, ownership, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Influence partners and stakeholders by effectively advocating for the needs of the field and the long-term interests of the business.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Office, Excel and SharePoint; Sway preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and differing priorities in a constantly changing and demanding environment using excellent organizational, communication, negotiation and scheduling skills.
  • BA/BS Degree required.
  • Back office operations and/or field experience required
  • Must be able to travel to clubs within our Canadian market and maintain eligibility to do so.
  • Must posses and maintain a driving record that will allow driving on behalf of the business.
