About The Position

The Manager of Operations is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring resources are available to provide quality patient care, and managing both financial and operational performance. This includes managing maintaining regulatory compliance, overseeing facility maintenance, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and executes effective leadership and management skills and ensures service excellence to all.
  • Leads and manages clinical and non-clinical settings with a focus on the Monument Health strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of core business structures, systems, practices, trends, and technologies within our current industry and of those in which we choose to compete in the future.
  • Develops, analyzes departmental data, and implements strategies and policies to improve efficiency, decrease cost and provide a better overall experience for patients and caregivers.
  • Plans for, manages and analyzes financial outcomes within budgetary projections and appropriately manages variables to assure cost-effective operations. Demonstrates effective fiscal management.
  • Provides input into the annual operating and capital budgets and is accountable to operate within budget guidelines.
  • Anticipates the need for expanded capital/labor resources and effectively presents the case for increased resources.
  • Identifies areas that need improvement, plans strategies that provide sustainable advances, and develops and executes these plans for continuous quality improvement.
  • Assists with quality improvements and maintenance of clinic/patient/visitor/provider and caregiver safety.
  • Assures that quality control requirements are met per identified department and departmental policies.
  • Ensures compliance for various accrediting bodies and governmental agencies and performs all necessary reviews, audits, education, and training to maintain compliant status.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, caregivers, and leadership.
  • Perform human resources responsibilities including interview and selection of new caregivers, orientation and onboarding, coaching and mentoring, performing performance evaluations, pay adjustments, resolution of caregiver concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and continually improving caregiver and physician engagement and retention.
  • Assists in the integration of new providers and services to facilities to assure staffing, practices, supplies, equipment meets the new provider/service needs.
  • Motivates staff in a positive manner toward a higher level of performance.
  • Develops subordinates by direct teaching, coaching, guidance, and by recognizing needs for staff development.
  • Displays strong patient experience skills in daily operations.
  • Cultivates relationships with caregivers and providers to work cooperatively toward common goals.
  • Displays professionalism and positive interpersonal skills when dealing with physicians, advanced practice providers, caregivers, patients, visitors, and the community.
  • Investigates/resolves complaints of caregivers, patients, visitors, ancillary departments, and medical staff through direct action or referral to appropriate individuals.
  • Facilitates positive provider and caregiver communications.
  • Ensures new ideas are adopted and implemented to continually support the organization’s purpose and vision.
  • Ensures caregivers share knowledge, understand decisions and the reasons why decisions are made and implemented.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the ED facility is maintained to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
  • Determines physical maintenance, facility, and equipment needs and repairs and coordinates with internal and external resources.
  • Builds relationships with local businesses, physicians, and community organizations to enhance the Monument Health's reputation and referral base.
  • Coordinates outreach activities, including community health programs, to promote awareness of services offered.
  • Performs work on projects, special assignments, committees, and other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.
