About The Position

The Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) is based on the premise that although verifying safety and compliance with regulations and operating procedures is a responsibility shared by each functional department within the Company, an objective centralized mechanism is needed to continuously facilitate appropriate levels of risk detection and process development or improvement. IEP is focused on detection of risk, discovery of improvement opportunity, and safety assurance adjacent to the Safety Management System (SMS) division comprising the overarching Safety and Security Department. The Manager of IEP will have the authority to modify policies and procedures supporting the IEP with consideration of the specific duties listed below.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact.
  • Ability to pass a 10-year work history background check, as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks, as required by the TSA.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner, complying with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Managerial experience specific to program and personal oversight preferred.
  • Audit experience specific to scope and complexity of Contour Airlines.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exhibit and un-bias with respect to subject matter and personnel involved.
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation standards and practices

Nice To Haves

  • Industry-recognized safety and audit certification preferred.
  • Project management experience and certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the IEP in accordance with regulatory guidance/requirements and third-party standards.
  • Assist in the development of departmental Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Maintain/coordinate a routine evaluation schedule across all Divisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations that may be comprised of on-site audits in a variety of environments including in the field, inflight, in training environments, and in office environments.
  • Prepare checklists and audit reports. This will include debriefing assigned departments and collaborating on corrective actions to ensure all aspects of SMS are implemented for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain database of evaluation schedule, findings, and corrective action plans.
  • Train and support IEP representatives/auditors across all Divisions.
  • Travel for onsite evaluations for a portion of the schedule.
  • Interface regularly with all members of the Safety and Security Department as well as cross department counterparts to ensure awareness of trends and concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
