About The Position

The API business unit focuses on API/CPaaS solutions which empower organizations with a customizable, omnichannel communications infrastructure, enabling them to connect with customers on their preferred channels throughout their journeys. With our easy-to-use APIs, global platform, and expert support, customers can abstract the complexity of communications and engage with customers in ongoing conversations. As a Manager of Outbound Sales Development, you will be responsible for recruiting, building & leading a successful team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) who are focused on playing a vital role not only in generating sales pipeline, but helping us refine sales and marketing strategy based on interactions and successes with prospects. This role demands a blend of leadership, coaching acumen, and a deep understanding of sales metrics and methodologies to optimize team performance.

Requirements

  • Proven track record managing and growing successful Sales Development or Inside Sales teams in a fast growth technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and run sales campaigns.
  • Experience with analysis of data & performance metrics; clarifying expectations is vital in ensuring your team knows exactly what their daily activities are, as well as the productivity levels they should aim for.
  • Strong business acumen to interpret data, determine what it is telling the business, and take action when needed.
  • In addition to proven Sales Leadership experience a clear track record of success within Sales or Sales Development roles is essential.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide consistent positive/constructive feedback, set clear goals, and facilitate ongoing training.
  • Exceptional communication & clear expectation setting skills to interact effectively with all levels of management and internal departmental partners including sales, marketing and product marketing.
  • Proven track record at establishing and exceeding measurable goals in a fast-paced Sales Development/Sales environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding and experience selling SaaS solutions, experience of API/CPaaS technology would be an advantage.
  • College degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Outbound SDRs to exceed goals, objectives, and monthly/annual quotas.
  • Actively recruit, hire, onboard, as well as continually train, motivate & mentor the team.
  • Ensure the effective use of Salesforce.com, sales engagement platforms and other prospecting tools.
  • Compile weekly/monthly team metric reports on SDR activities to create best practices for fast growing teams and summarize results to management.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to review qualification approaches to maximize opportunities.
  • Proactively work to improve the Sales Development resources as we develop Vonage's success story and presence in the market.
  • Forecasting, ensuring accurate assessment of opportunity pipelines.
  • Foster a strong team culture and create innovative strategies to drive ongoing success.
  • Work closely with members of Sales Leadership to ensure a positive and collaborative working environment while maximizing the effectiveness of the Outbound SDRs.
  • Identify individual and team training needs and create subsequent training and development plans.
