We are in a pivotal phase of growth and looking to expand technology team. As the Manager of Quality Engineering, you will define and implement a modern software quality strategy that transforms our delivery lifecycle, balancing hands-on technical leadership with strategic vision. You’ll build and mentor a high-performing team, driving impact during a critical growth phase, and report directly to the CTO, collaborating closely with product and engineering leadership to shape the company’s technology direction. The Manager of Quality Engineering will lead the strategy, execution, and automation of software quality assurance for Velocitor’s enterprise suite. You will manage a team of 5+ QA engineers, transition the organization from manual-heavy processes to a "Quality as Code" culture, and oversee the validation of complex mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications. You will be a player-coach—capable of architecting an automation framework in the morning and presenting software release readiness to executive leadership in the afternoon.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Software Quality Assurance/Engineering with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Hands-on experience building software automation frameworks from scratch using Java, Python, or C# (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
  • Proven track record of recruiting, hiring, and managing teams of 5+ engineers.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC in a SaaS environment, including extensive API testing (Postman/RestAssured) and Mobile testing (iOS/Android).
  • Deep understanding of Change Management, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—ability to translate technical complexity into business impact for executive and non-technical audiences
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments with rapidly changing priorities and ambiguity
  • Strong ownership mentality: you take accountability for outcomes, drive issues to resolution, and lead by example

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, telematics, fleet management, IoT, or other real-time, data-intensive platforms serving enterprise customers
  • Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus/Grafana, Azure Monitor, Application Insights)
  • Experience testing AI-driven software features (e.g., algorithms, route optimization) or integrating with data science teams.
  • Familiarity with Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and Cloud Platforms (Azure/AWS).

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Software Quality Engineers and SDETs.
  • Define and execute a roadmap to transition from manual testing to >80% automated regression coverage for Web and Mobile platforms.
  • Partner with Product Management and DevOps to integrate automated quality gates into the CI/CD pipeline (Azure DevOps/AWS).
  • Establish key software quality metrics (Defect Escape Rate, Cycle Time, Code Coverage) and report progress to the CTO.
  • Standardize best practices for test case management, defect tracking, and software release certification.
  • Own the Software Change Management process, ensuring zero-downtime deployments and rigorous rollback procedures for enterprise customers.
  • Collaborate with the Managed Services team to reproduce production software issues and drive "Root Cause Analysis" (RCA) loops back into engineering.
