About The Position

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all procurement and sourcing activities across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites within the industrial plastics industry. This role ensures the strategic alignment of procurement activities with business objectives, drives cost optimization, ensures supply continuity, and develops high-performing procurement teams across locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive procurement and sourcing experience within the industrial plastics industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading procurement teams across multiple sites or regions.
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems supporting multi-site manufacturing and procurement environments.
  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Deep understanding of industrial plastics materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes. Distribution preferred.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing distributed teams.
  • Advanced negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational execution.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Ability to travel between sites as required.

Nice To Haves

  • CSCP or CPIM certification is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all procurement activities across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with company strategy.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, fabricated components, outside processing, MRO, and indirect spend specific to the industrial plastics industry.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop procurement and planning staff across sites, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, including supplier selection, performance management, and contract negotiation.
  • Negotiate regional and enterprise-level contracts to achieve optimal total cost of ownership, supply assurance, and service levels.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and finance teams to align sourcing strategies with production requirements and business forecasts.
  • Oversee demand planning inputs and material planning strategies to support production schedules and inventory targets.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as cost savings, on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness; implement corrective actions as required.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to capacity constraints, market volatility, and supplier dependency.
  • Ensure procurement policies, procedures, and controls are implemented consistently across all sites.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to sourcing, inventory optimization, and supplier performance.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on procurement performance, risks, and opportunities.
