The Manager of Philanthropy leads the organization's major gifts strategy and drives philanthropic growth through relationship-building, strategic fundraising, and data-informed donor engagement. This role manages a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects and collaborates with leadership to align giving opportunities with organizational priorities. The manager plays a key role in strengthening a culture of philanthropy that fuels mission-driven work across CHS.

  • Collaborate with the CDO and CEO to set annual fundraising goals and develop strategic plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators for fundraising progress and donor engagement.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors through personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Build authentic relationships that connect donors' philanthropic goals with CHS’s mission and priorities.
  • Ensure high-quality stewardship experiences that promote long-term donor retention and increased giving.

  • Use donor data and analytics to drive engagement strategies, forecast revenue, and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate donor records, interactions, and gift history within the CRM system
  • Generate reports to inform fundraising decisions and measure outcomes.
  • Partner with program staff and leadership management team to identify funding opportunities and craft compelling cases for support.
  • Support organizational campaigns, events, and initiatives by aligning philanthropic messaging with CHS’s strategic goals.
  • Promote a culture of philanthropy across CHS through internal collaboration and staff engagement
  • Represent CHS at community events and donor meetings, reinforcing the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and stewarding gifts above $1,000.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM databases, donor research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of major gift fundraising principles, donor cultivation, and donor lifecycle strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or related field from an accredited university, plus five years of related work experience in fundraising, with a focus on major gifts; or a combination of education and experience to equal nine years.
  • Must provide a valid driver's license and proof of personal valid vehicle insurance.
