Manager of Merchant Training Design and Operations The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career. The Manager of Merchant Training Design and Operations creates and executes the vision and strategy for Merchant development for the TJX University. In partnership with TJXU leadership, they will identify opportunities and set strategy for the development and implementation of TJXU Merchant training programs, resources, and tools that support Merchant development within the TJXU Merchant continuum. Represents the TJXU point of view, and partners with HR/L&D. Strategizes the vision for and implements existing Merchant training programs and processes, in partnership with subject matter experts. Monitors, measures, and evaluates effectiveness of learning offerings and updates TJXU leadership and Coaching team as necessary. Supervises and develops Learning and Development Specialist(s). Supports training delivery and consultation for offices other than 770 as needed. Manages all communication to the business and HR business partners regarding Merchant training programs. Who We Are Looking For: You. Identifies opportunities and partners with leadership to align on strategies for the development and implementation of Merchant development training programs and Curriculum for the TJXU. Counsels, advises, and provides vision and rationale to TJXU Leadership on learning methodologies, timing of programs and layered learning strategies. Works with VP Merchant Coaching and Development, Design and Operations COE and AVP of Merchant Training Design and Operations to create a vision of yearly deliverables; communicates vision to key stakeholders. Designs, delivers, and oversees TJX University training programs and curriculum for Merchant development. These programs include Buyer IT and Bridge to Buying. Partners with AVP Merchant Coaching and Development and other subject matter experts to manage and potentially deliver programs. Is a design expert and may be present (in person or virtually) for entirety of programs. Updates leader notes, materials, manages tasks. May take lead on facilitating sessions and supports facilitating Coaches and provides feedback. Oversees operations thru Specialist(s) to ensure programs run smoothly, troubleshooting as necessary. Collaborates with and communicates with HR, L&D and the business on topics that impact merchant development. Manages all communication with participants. Acts as thought partner and consults with other offices on delivering and supporting these programs in other offices, including GBOs. Oversees and makes recommendations to enhance Merchant development Curriculum, which includes high potential Buyers identified by the business and new in role and high potential MMs. Ensures that 5 pillars are reinforced throughout the learning continuum. Leverages HRBPs to ensure consistency with global talent objectives and updates HR partners regularly. Partners with TJX University Coaches and merchants as subject matter experts to design, deliver and enhance all training. Leads process of periodically assessing effectiveness of TJXU training and tools and processes to ensure they are meeting TJXU objectives. Recommends enhancements. Creates strategy for recruiting Merchant and Leadership support, and outside resources as needed for training programs. Adapts programs to meet hybrid environment and global needs. Leads and manages a team of Sr./L&D specialists that support TJXU training programs. Manages and supports the career/personal development of Sr./L&D specialist(s). Provides feedback, project opportunities and L&D upskilling to support career growth within TJXU while also meeting yearly deliverables. Performs special projects as assigned. Works with outside consultants as needed to support training. Participates in Global Bus Trip.
