About The Position

The Manager of Laundry Services reports to the Adm. Director of Materials Management. The primary job function is to provide the leadership and management skills necessary to develop, implement, monitor, and coordinate the day to day administrative and operational tasks of the laundry department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
  • BMVL required (Must maintain eligibility to drive as determined by SOMC insurance carriers)
  • OSHA 30 hour certification within 6 months of hire required
  • NFPA 70E certification within 6 months of hire required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Two years supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages operations of the SOMC's Laundry facility assuring efficient production of linens.
  • Maintains records, statistics, reports, and files for department.
  • Assists in the development, accomplishment and adherence to of annual budget, departmental goals, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Selects, orders, and maintains inventory of appropriate linen items and oversees the annual inventory of linen items.
  • Manages the Linen Helper software and maintains linen distribution statistics.
  • Recommends changes in inventory levels and stocks to ensure the most cost-effective inventory control.
  • Oversees the ScrubTrak scrub machines to ensure scrub availability.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Laundry and its customers to ensure that the services provided meet or exceed customer expectation.
  • Prepares monthly reports for calculating volume, efficiency, and completing of strategic value dashboard.
  • Manages all Linen Services personnel. Conducts interviews for potential staff members, hires staff members, conducts employee performance evaluations, manages departmental corrective action process, and assures proper completion of all required employee record keeping.
  • Works with linen, chemical, and equipment representatives to assure quality of finished product is maintained for optimal use of appropriate products and/or equipment.
  • Assures compliance with all TJC, OSHA, federal, and state requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
