About The Position
A leading acute care hospital in South Texas is seeking an experienced Manager of Labor & Delivery (RN) to provide leadership and operational oversight for the Labor & Delivery unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, effective staffing, and strong clinical outcomes while supporting staff performance and aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives. Unit Details 19 Labor & Delivery beds 5 OB Emergency Department beds 3 Surgical suites Approximately 80 FTEs On-call coverage for Postpartum (PP), Antepartum (AP), and Labor & Delivery every third week (phone/emergency coverage)
Requirements
- Minimum of 1+ year of recent (within the last year) Labor & Delivery leadership experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma – Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit
- Ensure safe staffing, scheduling, and productivity management
- Promote high standards of clinical quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction
- Support, mentor, and develop nursing staff and leadership team
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
- Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve departmental goals
