Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in insurance, risk management, brokerage, underwriting, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry, including policy structures, coverage forms, risk financing concepts, and carrier/broker operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Property and Casualty Lines, principles of tort, indemnity, and damages.
  • Experience with claims processes and insurance program administration.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and contractual risk-transfer requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to interact effectively with executives, operations teams, brokers, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison to insurance brokers and carriers, maintaining relationships and staying updated on market conditions and industry developments.
  • Lead design, placement, and administration of insurance and risk-transfer programs across Corporate, Hospitality, Retail, M&A and Construction/Development verticals.
  • Facilitate, administer, and assess coverage needs for all personal lines related to executive family assets, including but not limited to homeowners, valuable articles, aircraft, marine/boat, personal umbrella, and personal auto policies.
  • Coordinate with brokers and internal teams to gather underwriting data for policy placement.
  • Identify, measure and manage insurance coverage (Property, Liability, Workers Compensation, Business Auto, Builders Risk, EPLI, OCIP, Active Assailant, Fiduciary, Crime, Inland Marine, Directors & Officers, Cyber and others) for asset protection and compliance.
  • Identify coverage gaps and obtain competitive insurance quotes for executive and ownership evaluation.
  • Monitor market trends and new insurance products relevant to operations.
  • Control insurance costs and provide pricing comparisons for major coverages for executive leadership teams.
  • Assist with annual budgeting of premiums and self-insured loss fund contributions.
  • Conduct financial analysis regarding insurance rates, coverages, risk exposure and claims.
  • Act as the primary conduit for all vendors, consultants, and partners regarding risk management strategies, coordinating required trainings, certifications, and inspections to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Support corporate safety initiatives by administering recommendations, reducing hazards based on claim trends and participating in safety walkthroughs.
  • Assist with crisis plans and provide recommendations for implementation.
  • Own first-party insurance claims and auto claims, including carrier submission, documentation, recovery, and restoration coordination in partnership with brokers, adjusters, and business units.
  • Review contracts for insurance compliance and accuracy for all verticals.
  • Maintain coordination of insurance matters with executive management, legal, and ownership.
  • Maintain, track, and enforce adherence to certificate of insurance requirements for retail tenants, marketing activations, and vendors.
  • Draft and review insurance language in contracts, including specialty endorsements and risk transfer provisions.
  • Provide executive-level summaries and budget oversight, including premium allocations by asset.
  • Utilize risk management systems (Evident, Yardi, Indio) and carrier portals for submissions, compliance and reporting.
  • Restructure insurance programs during ownership transitions and confirm lender covenants for M&A activities.
  • Align contractor insurance exhibits and specialty coverages for development projects.
  • Collaborate closely with legal to ensure cohesive risk management and mitigation across the Company’s assets.
  • Performs other duties as required.
