We currently seek a full-time Manager of Individual Giving to join and support our Development team. This newly created position will be responsible for supporting the Vice President’s development strategy to build Osborne’s individual giving program which includes high-growth principal gifts, major gifts, planned giving and direct response. The position will be responsible for creating critical operational and procedural systems to manage cultivation and stewardship activities, including board engagement, donor and prospect moves management, and gala and event management and follow-up. The manager will also play a key role in managing a portfolio of annual to mid-level giving prospects while supporting the VP’s activities with major and principal gifts donors. This is an opportunity to contribute to building an individual giving program to elevate Osborne’s culture of philanthropy for significantly greater impact. The successful candidate will be a systems thinker familiar with moves management process and tracking; demonstrates accountability for data and metrics; and has fundraising experience in large or complex organizations. With high impact development management experience, the ideal candidate will have a positive, “can-do” attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with all staff and volunteers in a diverse and brisk environment; is self-motivated and highly organized, with exceptional attention to accuracy; has excellent verbal and written communication skills; is flexible with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously; and has a keen passion for racial equity and social justice and strong alignment with Osborne’s mission and values. This position will report out of our Brooklyn Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive increasingly responsible experience in fundraising with knowledge and expertise across all levels of individual giving.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff
  • Experience working on successful fundraising campaigns, including managing campaign budgets and priorities.
  • Experience in relationship management with extensive knowledge of volunteer management and donor cultivation and stewardship as well as experience closing up to 5-figure gifts from first-time donors (not just renewals and upgrades).
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities.
  • Extensive Salesforce or similar CRM management experience.
  • Demonstrated awareness of incorporating racial, cultural, and socioeconomic equity and justice into communications and interpersonal interactions.
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, be persistent, and maintain excellent follow-through.
  • Impeccable interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain strong relationships with Osborne sta? and external stakeholders.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, flexibility, and comfort working under deadlines on a steady volume of projects.
  • Agility and endurance to navigate a large, complex organization.
  • The ability to function as a respected representative of the organization, particularly in interactions with funders.
  • Knowledge of the evolving philanthropic landscape, specifically as it relates to individual giving in the tri-state area.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Vice President, Development, executes on the vision for a multifaceted individual giving program aimed to diversify the current funding portfolio and ensure individual giving at Osborne reaches its full potential.
  • Responsible for operationalizing a moves management system for individual cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy across all levels.
  • Conduct donor and prospect briefings to prepare and coach the President & CEO, VP of Development, key volunteers and development staff on best practices in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Develop and implement metrics to monitor program success in collaboration with the development team and senior leadership.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with the capacity, interest, and inclination to make gifts up to 5- figures and have potential for board service.
  • Identify 6+ figure major and principal gifts prospects for the Vice President’s and President & CEO’s portfolios.
  • Devise engagement and recognition opportunities ensuring donor acknowledgement, stewardship and as appropriate, public recognition.
  • Support the development and management of corporate partnerships, including sponsorship outreach, relationship management, and coordination of corporate foundation requests.
  • Oversee corporate and individual donor engagement through volunteer opportunities, including coordinating volunteer placements and strengthening pathways for deeper mission connection.
  • Serve as a Development Ambassador, contributing to building a culture of philanthropy among stakeholders and creating a donor-centric fundraising approach across the entire organization.
  • Closely collaborate with the Development Associate, which reports to the Vice President of Development, to reimagine fundraising event strategy at the Osborne Association.
  • Work with the Development Associate to facilitate processes and structures to support individual gift correspondence in the database, including timely acknowledgments, pledge payment reminders, pledge agreements, and preparing and submitting reports to donors.
  • Support annual fund initiatives, including appeals, donor communications, and follow-up outreach to strengthen donor retention and engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the development and communications teams to provide fundraising collateral and communications, specifically solicitation materials, including print, web, and social media platforms.
  • Prepare presentations for the executive leadership team and Board of Directors evaluating progress toward goals.
