About The Position

This positionoversees the day-to-day operations of Camp Facilities, Grounds, and Utilities,performs routine and minor repairs,leads multiple volunteer work groups on serviceprojects,assistsinmaintainingvehicles and equipment,and documents activities and transactions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalentrequired.
  • Certification inrelatedfieldrequired. Certified Electrician preferred.
  • Fouror moreyearsrelated work experiencerequired. Basic construction knowledge and basic knowledge of and experience performing routine, electrical, plumbing, and small equipment repairsrequired.
  • Robust knowledge of the mechanical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Available to workdays, and occasionally weekends
  • Must be able to follow establishedschedule, report activities, and document transactions properly.
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding of power tools and related safety requirements.
  • Ability to workindependentof close supervision.
  • Meets driver guidelines of age 25+ with valid driver's license and a clean MVR.
  • Knowledge of safe lifting techniquesrequired.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • EnsuresCamp Kiwanis groundsand facilities are clean, landscaping lookinggoodandall facilities and programming spaces are ingood working order
  • Repairs building structures, walls, floors, ceilings,cabinets,and furniture.
  • Ensureswork areas are clean when finished; ensures tools are collected,cleanedand put away.
  • Assembles and moves furniture such asdeskschairs and tables, andoutdoorrecreation equipment such asarchery and waterfront safety.
  • CompletesACApaperworkrequiredto document maintenance and other activities.
  • Advises supervisor when outside contractors are needed toaccomplisha project andhelpsobtain outside bids.
  • Keeps BGCMA vehicle in good repair by following owner maintenance schedule and keeping vehicle clean and safe.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies andequipmentandupdatesannually.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned as needed(Housekeeping, KitchenDutyand Event Help,etc)
  • Supervises/coordinates employee(s) daily routine maintenance and emergency repair responses.
  • Coordinates/manages summer staff conducting maintenance/summer camp prep projects.
  • Supervises volunteer groups and Club Members conducting service projects and special projects that enhance the camp landscape and facilities. Examples:Paint, staining, pressure washing, storm clean-up, landscaping etc.Volunteer and special interest groups may consist of as many as 30 people.
  • Annual Boy Scout Eagle Scout Projects:Communicates multiple site project options to scout leaders. Recommends construction details such as building materials, techniques, andprocess. Makes final approvaltoas-built drawings, materials, and scheduling. Signs off on completed projects.
  • AmeriCorps NCCC Management and SiteSupervision: Plans, coordinates,facilitates, and supervises a multitude of maintenance and new construction projects. Supervisiongenerally is4 to 5 consecutive weeks andoverseesas many as 12 participants.
  • Manages needs for outside vendors, service calls/work order request, to include scheduling, planned maintenance programs, holding accountability/compliance checks and monthly check-in meetings, reporting all concerns to VP of Safety & Facility Operations.
