Job Summary: The Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) will assist in setting strategy, leading, and planning all aspects of EHS within their function.  This position will work closely with EHS leadership, resort operations, and corporate leadership to create, build, implement, and sustain an EHS culture that achieves world-class performance. This position will work cross-functionally to support and cultivate safety programs and ensure they are properly vetted, on schedule, and on budget. This position may collaborate with external partners, community leaders, and regulators in supporting the resort as well as the company’s core value of ”Be Safe.”

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental, Health & Safety preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and influence organizational safety culture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
  • Intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder.
  • Experience with EHS management systems for analyzing and advising on safety data analytics.
  • Familiarity with data collection platforms: Tableau, Benchmark Gensuite, Smartsheets, etc.
  • Experience leading and implementing change through a matrix environment.
  • Experience in influencing change across a variety of stakeholders.
  • ASP, GSP, CSP or equivalent experience in professional safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Operational experience in the other ski area or hospitality operations (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Influence and support the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety strategy to achieve world-class EHS performance within the travel and leisure industry.
  • Responsible for the strategy and management of: Safety trainings.
  • Completing audits and assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance with Resort & Enterprise EHS programs.
  • Advising and coaching front line, department, and resorts leaders on EHS initiatives.
  • Ensure timely completeness of OSHA 300 logs.
  • Be an unbiased leader and voice for resort leadership to ensure understanding of the risks and opportunities to drive, improve, and then maintain superior safety performance.
  • Understand the core business needs and in doing so adjust the safety strategy to the business.
  • Address compliance and regulatory safety as well as risk management trends and regulatory focus areas as directed by the Senior Manager and/or Director.
  • Engage, as required, with local, state, and federal officials as necessary to support EHS compliance and best practices.
  • Communicate with a variety of stakeholders in a matrix environment.
  • Identify and execute projects in coordination with the Sr. Manager and the greater EHS team.
  • Be a model for Leadership Development on the EHS Team.
  • Advise and support the Regional EHS Senior Manager, and all operations including but not limited to: Mountain Division, Security, Environmental, Sustainability, Hospitality, and VRR.
  • Partner with Environmental Compliance for day-to-day management and support, as designated by Environmental Compliance leadership.
  • Responsibility for EHS programing and oversight of multiple resort locations within the Mid-Atlantic beyond immediate location.
  • Split time between Attitash and Wildcat, office will be based at Attitash.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned.
