About The Position

As a member of the development team, the Manager of Donor Relations will be responsible for building and fostering relationships with individual donors and giving prospects, in pursuit of SPRI’s mission and values. Reporting to the VP of Development, the position will play a key role in fundraising activity, provide general administrative support for SPRI and work closely with institute leadership, investigators and staff to implement development strategies, programs and projects.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years fund development or sales/marketing experience, preferably in the healthcare arena.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to groups of people of all sizes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively with health professionals.
  • Well connected in the donor community.
  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of donor software programs preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in executing numerous and often complex and time-sensitive actions simultaneously.
  • High ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key member of the SPRI development team.
  • Identifies prospective individual and corporate donors and develops strategies to cultivate those relationships.
  • Conversant with all aspects and details of SPRI’s research and education programs and with the patient services provided by The Steadman Clinic.
  • Integrally involved in the execution of SPRI’s development plan, which includes annual and capital fundraising goals and objectives, strategies and tactics to be employed in each aspect of the development program and the scheduling of fundraising activities.
  • Responsible for development database management and gift processing.
  • Provides support for company events at the direction of SPRI’s VP of Development.
  • Provides sophisticated calendar management for SPRI executives upon request.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive material and information in printed electronic or verbal form.
  • Maintains personal commitment to the Steadman Philippon Research Institute mission and values.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
