About The Position

Meals on Wheels People is seeking a Donor Relations Manager to manage a mixed portfolio of individual, foundation, and corporate donors in Clark County, Washington. This role plays a key part in advancing MOWP’s mission and ensuring sustainable financial growth through thoughtful donor engagement and relationship-building. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and cross-functional partners, the Donor Relations Manager will design and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy that meaningfully connects Clark County donors with MOWP’s work in the region. This position is responsible for securing gifts of $5,000 and above, deepening relationships with key funders and community stakeholders, and inspiring continued investment in the vision that no senior goes hungry or experiences social isolation.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of fundraising, philanthropy, donor engagement, or related fields gained through professional experience, education, training, or lived experience.
  • Strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape, including donor engagement strategies, prospect research, fundraising best practices, and emerging trends in giving.
  • Five or more years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or development, with a focus on individual giving, leadership gifts, and major donor relationships.
  • Demonstrated success soliciting and securing gifts of $5,000 or more and contributing to the achievement or surpassing of fundraising goals.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences and build trusted relationships.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple fundraising initiatives, and to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
  • High level of responsiveness, accountability, and follow‑through, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with donor management databases and fundraising technology; experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working with multicultural and socially diverse communities, including older adults, BIPOC communities, low‑income populations, and individuals living with disabilities.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and time‑sensitive activities.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • An equivalent combination of professional experience, training, education, and lived experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (including but not limited to English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, or other Asian or African languages) strongly preferred.
  • An annual $1,872 bilingual differential is available for candidates who pass a fluency assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100–150 individual, foundation, and corporate donors and prospects, using moves management to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals with a focus on gifts of $5,000 or more.
  • Develop and implement customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that strengthen donor engagement and grow giving over time.
  • Collaborate with the CDO and Individual Giving Manager to support short- and long-term strategies for major gifts, operations, and the capital campaign, with emphasis on individual gifts, donor-advised funds, and planned giving.
  • Create compelling donor-facing materials, including proposals, reports, and personalized communications aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities.
  • Identify, qualify, and advance major gift prospects through data analysis, referrals, and proactive outreach.
  • Partner with the CEO and CDO to support donor engagement efforts, including coordination of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities involving executive leadership.
  • Represent Meals on Wheels People at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to build and strengthen relationships with Clark County donors and partners.
  • Work collaboratively across departments, including individual giving, events, grants, and marketing, to achieve shared fundraising goals.
  • Contribute to a cooperative, strategic, and team-oriented work environment, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance fundraising and operational efforts in Clark County.
  • Support and uphold Meals on Wheels People’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
