We are hiring a Manager of Data Migration to lead our Data Migration team as they onboard new customers by migrating data from legacy systems into Canopy. This role is critical to ensuring a smooth, accurate, and timely transition for our customers during one of the most important moments in their lifecycle. As the Manager of Data Migration, you will manage and develop a team of Data Migration Specialists, oversee migration strategy and execution, and partner cross-functionally with Sales, CX, Product, and Engineering to continuously improve our migration processes. You’ll bring a balance of technical expertise, operational rigor, and people leadership to help scale our onboarding experience as Canopy continues to grow. This is a hybrid position in South Jordan, Utah (M, W, F in-office).

Requirements

  • 2+ years of people leadership experience managing or leading a team
  • 5+ years of experience in data migration, customer onboarding, implementation, or a related SaaS function.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, system integrations, and migration workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling migration or onboarding teams at a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, practice management tools, or financial data.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product or Engineering teams on migration tooling or automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data Migration Specialists, providing regular feedback, performance management, and career growth support.
  • Own the end-to-end data migration experience for new customers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a high-quality onboarding experience.
  • Establish and refine migration processes, documentation, and best practices to support scale and consistency.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve migration challenges and improve tooling.
  • Monitor team capacity, migration timelines, and success metrics to ensure SLAs and customer expectations are met.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-risk migrations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and continuous improvement across the migration function.
