About The Position

Join a growing team in a completely remote and flexible role focused on complex, client-facing data migrations. Vineskills is an implementation partner for a case and document management platform called Filevine. As a Data Migration Engineer at Vineskills, you will lead and execute complex data and document migrations from legacy casement systems into Filevine. This role requires hands-on experience conducting full lifecycle data migrations from client discovery and data assessment through ETL development, validation, and post-migration support. You will work directly with clients and their live data, serving as both a technical expert and a trusted advisor throughout the migration process. Location: This position is open to U.S.-based candidates only at this time.

Requirements

Filevine Data Migration Engineer Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to analyze and interpret complex database structures.
Familiarity with APIs and integrations.
Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
Experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, CloverDX, or custom scripting.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for data-related issues.
Understanding of data security best practices.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in legal case management or CRM data migrations.
Mid-level Python skills
Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Google Cloud, or similar).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems (Git, GitLab).
CJIS certification (or willingness to obtain for working with sensitive government legal data)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients to understand their data structures and migration needs.
Plan, scope, and execute data migrations from legacy systems into Filevine.
Develop and optimize SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
Perform data mapping, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy.
Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues, escalating when necessary.
Conduct post-migration testing and quality assurance.
Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, issues, and resolutions.
Provide support and training to clients and internal teams on data migration best practices.
Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary Range: $74,400 - $120,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
